Thanks for the article about "Mad Movies..." I was a member of the L.A. Connection, although I didn't participate in the movie dubbings or the TV show. The show had its moments and here are a few facts:

- The Ken Cinema is not in Los Angeles, it is in San Diego, in the Kensington district, hence the name. The L.A. Connection did indeed do live movie dubs there; I saw them do "Wrestling Women vs. The Aztec Mummy".

- They did a short version of their dubbing for Alan Thicke's "Thicke of the Night" program.

- I believe that Connie Sue Cook and Bob Buchholz did a little bit of work for "America's Funniest Home Videos" There was a challenge to send it old home movies. They re-dubbed one as "Baby-Robics" which consisted of a kid biting a crib, while the voice-over was an instructor and uptempo music saying, "And BITE, and BITE, and BITE, and BITE!"

For those of you who would like a taste of what they did, there is a DVD called "The Blobermouth", which recasts the Blob of the Steve McQueen movie as a bad stand-up comedian. You can also purchase "Reefer Madness II" at this site http://www.reefermadness2.com/Buy_a_DVD.html

Also, from their site, it looks like NEW "Mad Movies" are on their way!

- The movie that was featured on "Movie Magic Mystery was a re-dub of the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes film, "The Woman in Green".

Roger, I think the most faithful version is the one starring Patrick Stewart. For one, Scrooge is not shown flying through the London sky in a night shirt, which is in most movies but not in the book.

The sets from 1953's Titanic - as well as the ship model - were reused for the filming of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The set saw reuse in a couple other films before disposal. The Titanic model was rebuilt with three Queen Mary-style funnels and ventilators to resemble a generic French liner. After being sold off by the studio, the model was restored as the Titanic and spent some time on display in a shopping mall before being sold to a museum.
